Henry Cejudo Reveals What He Needs to Become a Boxing World Champion
Following his boxing debut a few days ago, Henry Cejudo revealed how he can become a world champion in the sport.
Henry Cejudo seems to have already set his sights on becoming a boxing world champion, despite making his in-ring debut just days ago. The former UFC champ-champ kicked off his boxing career on a high note, defeating Javon 'Wanna' Walton inside the Misfits Boxing ring on September 26. Subsequently, Cejudo presented a hysterical stipulation to earn a boxing world title.
Henry Cejudo Wants to Become a Boxing Champion by Fighting 'Tomato Cans'
Cejudo and Walton locked horns in a welterweight matchup on September 26 inside the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida.
Walton used his reach advantage effectively in the initial minutes of the bout, but Cejudo drew level with his forward pressure and an overhand that hit its target multiple times on the night. 'Triple C' enjoyed the last laugh, scoring a split-decision victory over his opponent and advancing his pro-boxing record to 1-0.
Still, Cejudo hasn't been able to register completely that he is also a pro boxer now. During his appearance on a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast, the former UFC champ-champ told Kamaru Usman, "It’s crazy to say that I’m a professional boxer. Wow, I'll take it"
'Triple C' also wished to repeat his UFC champion feat inside the boxing ring, but he presented a hilarious demand to embark on the journey to his desired "green" championship "belt." Cejudo said, "All I have to do now is give me a bunch of tomato cans. Give me about 20 of them, and I’ll be a world champion. I’ll have a green belt around my waist."

The description of Cejudo's targeted "belt" says that it is one of the WBC titles, since all of them have emerald green straps. Given that he continues in the same weight class, the WBC welterweight championship is clearly the green belt Cejudo wants around his waist.
Cejudo's "tomato cans" demand may be fulfilled for a few of his future fights. However, earning the WBC welterweight championship is supposed to be a far tougher task due to the formidable contenders in the mix. Besides renowned names like Conor Benn and Ronaldo Romero, the reigning welterweight champion, Ryan 'KingRy' Garcia, is expected to be Cejudo's biggest challenge.
While fighting "tomato cans" can help 'Triple C' forge an impressive record for the books, it can be safely said that he wouldn't be able to reach anywhere near his desired "green belt" without more dedication to the cause.
