Josh Hokit is one of the most controversial fighters in the UFC right now. He has an undefeated record, but he has also made headlines for some of his comments, from his remarks about Michelle Obama to his 9/11 jokes. Because of this, Dana White has earlier said that he does not like the things Hokit says. And recently, the UFC boss shared that he is worried about Hokit becoming the heavyweight champion. Now, Hokit has reacted to those comments.
Dana White Isn’t Ready for Josh Hokit as UFC Champion
With wins over Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes already on his record, Hokit is now one fight away from becoming a UFC champion. His next test comes against Ciryl Gane at UFC 334. Meanwhile, Dana White was asked what he thinks about Hokit being so close to becoming the new heavyweight champion. To that, the UFC boss said he has a lot of thoughts about it.
“I got a lot of thoughts on that. Lots and lots. I say it all the time, I don't have to like you for you to thrive here and you to do well and be successful... I'm not saying that I don't like Josh Hokit. I literally don't fu*king like anything Josh Hokit says, so. And that's not going to change unless he changes, which I don't see happening, so,” White stated. To which, Hokit replied, “Cmon, anything?”
Hokit seemed a little hurt by White’s comments. With a heartbreak emoji, he showed that he couldn’t believe White disliked everything he said. Meanwhile, if Hokit becomes champion and continues making controversial comments, White could have an even bigger problem on his hands.
Sean Strickland Reacts to Dana White Being Worried About Josh Hokit Becoming UFC Champion
Strickland also reacted to White’s comments, suggesting that the UFC boss was making Hokit’s comments sound much more serious than they were. In his usual Strickland style, he compared White’s reaction to someone being treated as if they had been accused of a very serious crime. “Bro hes acting like you got accused of violently r**ing a girl with your buddy in college,” Strickland said.
Meanwhile, Ciryl Gane will fight Hokit for the undisputed UFC heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 334 on November 14. Indeed, if the former NFL star becomes champion, it could be a very controversial heavyweight reign unless Hokit changes his ways.
