"One little hiccup in the road means nothing to me" Kurtis Campbell Discusses UFC Paris Return

The Pink Panther, Kurtis Campbell returns to action at UFC Paris this Saturday night in the Accor Arena in search of his first promotional win. The 24 year old, who fights out of The MMA Academy in Liverpool, gained a contract after a dominant victory on the Contender Series in September. 

He entered the UFC with a lot of hype with an undefeated record of 8-0 and was matched with Danny Silva in London in March. It wasn't the dream start that Campbell had planned. Just 31 seconds into the second round he was knocked out by the American and suffered his first professional loss.

He returns to action in Paris with a point to prove, but it won't come easy. Stood across from him will be American, Trevor Peek. The 31 year old also gained a contract on the Contender Series and had a more successful debut, winning in the first round via knockout. Since then, he's gone 1-3 and is looking to snap a two fight losing skid.

Speaking to the UFC, Campbell said "I can't wait. It's going to be amazing to get that first (UFC) win under the belt, and from there work toward continuing that streak and make waves in this sport".  He went on to say, "I've got a lot to look forward to. At the end of day, this is my job and I thrive under that pressure. I can't wait to do it.

"Kurtis Campbell isn't just one fight. This is the next fight, and I'm going to show who I am. Just one little hiccup in the road means nothing to me".

Will Campbell force the finish and look to get his seventh career finish? It's unlikely. He said "If I need 15 minutes, it'll be there. But when the finish comes, I'll be taking it with both hands".

Speaking on his opponent, Campbell stated “I think he's good. He's strong, so I am ready for wherever the fight goes, and I'm looking forward to this one with Trevor".

Campbell is the biggest favourite on the card and UK fans will hope he lives up to the odds.
