Mauricio Ruffy Won’t Like What Arman Tsarukyan Has Planned for Their UFC 331 Fight

On social media, Arman Tsarukyan warns Mauricio Ruffy ahead of their upcoming UFC 331 fight.
There is no doubt that the majority of fans feel that Arman Tsarukyan is not getting the fight he deserves, which is a title shot. While his upcoming fight at UFC 331 was rumored to be against Charles Oliveira for the BMF title, he now has to fight the No. 10-ranked fighter, Mauricio Ruffy. Ahead of the fight, the Armenian fighter has shared a message for the Brazilian fighter, and it’s not something he would like to hear.
Arman Tsarukyan Warns Mauricio Ruffy He’ll Put Him to Sleep
On Instagram, the Armenian fighter shared a picture of his face-off with Ruffy, to which Tsarukyan wrote, “2 weeks out, Bring a pillow.” Coming to the fight, the No. 2-ranked fighter is a heavy favorite. While Ruffy isn’t an easy fight, he has been knocking out big names like Michael Chandler, Rafael Fiziev, and more, which shows his caliber.
Meanwhile, Tsarukyan’s warning isn’t something he has said without backing it up. In his career, he has shown himself to be a complete fighter, from his elite wrestling to his clean knockouts of Beneil Dariush and Joel Alvarez.
However, fighters like Mateusz Gamrot and Islam Makhachev have shown how to break Tsarukyan. In both fights, he faced strong wrestlers who kept pushing him. Makhachev used his wrestling, while Gamrot used his high-level grappling.
So, it’s clear that Ruffy needs an elite grappling game, which he hasn’t shown yet. Instead, he is a striking specialist. That makes this matchup even more interesting to watch.
Dana White Isn’t Ready to Call Arman Tsarukyan vs. Mauricio Ruffy a Title Eliminator
The UFC boss had earlier called Tsarukyan vs. Dan Hooker a title eliminator. But that never happened. Justin Gaethje later got the title shot, while Tsarukyan is now set to fight the No. 10-ranked Dan Hooker. Ahead of the fight, White was asked if this matchup is still a title eliminator. He seemed hesitant when answering.
In his words, “I hate to say that until the fight is over... Arman says a lot of things. Listen, let's see how this fight plays out.”
It’s been so long since Tsarukyan has been at the top of the division, but he has not got a title shot. After he pulled out against Islam Makhachev at the last moment, Dana White and the UFC have made his route tough, making him earn it once again.
