Movsar Evloev Reveals When He Plans to End His Sugar-Free Streak

Movsar Evloev had made a promise to himself to avoid sugar until he wins the UFC featherweight belt.
It has been more than three years that he's been doing so. The Russian fighter plans to celebrate his upcoming UFC title-shot win with only one sweet treat in mind, tiramisu.
Movsar Evloev Has Tiramisu in Mind After Winning UFC Featherweight Title
Movsar Evloev has built his career with discipline and consistency. He previously spoke about how cutting sugar out of his daily routine has kept his body functioning at the highest level.
Speaking in an interview with CBS Sports, he explained his reason for cutting sugar:
“Over two years of no added sugar of any kind. Because you can find sugar and fructose in natural stuff, but nothing was added for over two years. It is very important for me to stay in shape. Even if I were to retire, I am pretty sure I would be working on staying in shape.”
With that being said, he has also used this as a personal goal. The 32-year-old will fight featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 333 on Oct. 24 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Should he win and claim the title, tiramisu will be his celebratory treat.
Speaking in a recent interview with UFC on Paramount+, Evloev opened up about his post-fight dessert plans, saying:
" a tiramisu. I have not eaten sugar for a little more than 3 years. But the first treat I will allow myself once I win the UFC title is tiramisu… But I ate a lot of fruits and dates, so I don't have a deficit of sugar. So I don't eat the added sugar so I can, like, feel lighter, you know, and recover faster."
Movsar Evloev Believes Volkanovski More Focused on Ruffy’s 331 Camp than Own Fight
The 32-year-old also said that he respects 'The Great' as a champion, as the Australian called him out, loves tough challenges, and is doing his duty as the champion by fighting deserving contenders. The challenger, however, added that although Volkanovski is one of the greatest fighters in UFC history, this time, before UFC 333, he was more focused on teammate Maurico Ruffy's training camp, which can ultimately play out in Evloev's favor.
"He was focused on Ruffy's camp. He better focus on his own, and of course he's a great fighter. He's one of the best featherweights in history. And that gives me more motivation to prove to people that I'm not fake. I'm not just for, you know, to fight. I'm here to win the belt to stay as long as we can, like to beat everyone after that."
"I'm welcoming everybody, and I want to be busy, busy champion. And of course I respect him. He's the only guy he called my name, and being champion, in doing this, you know, I have only respect for this guy."
