Sean O’Malley has made a bold prediction for Joshua Van after the young champion’s impressive UFC 331 victory over Alexandre Pantoja.
Joshua Van entered the rematch with Alexandre Pantoja with plenty to prove as champion, as many pundits and fans questioned his status as champion, highlighting how he became champion against Pantoja at UFC 323: then-champion Pantoja fell awkwardly to the canvas and dislocated his left elbow at the 26-second mark, and Van secured a TKO victory to capture the UFC flyweight title.
Van had a lot to prove at UFC 331, and he did exactly that: he silenced all his doubters by securing a dominant, unanimous victory over arguably one of the best flyweights, Pantoja, in a rematch at UFC 331 to defend the title for the second time. Now, former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley heaps praise on‘ The Fearless' and makes a bold prediction for the flyweight kingpin.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, O’Malley emphasized that Van could eventually be remembered as the greatest flyweight in UFC history and potentially one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters of all time.
“Joshua Van got to be one of the my favorite guys to watch right now. He's gonna go down as the greatest flyweight of all time,” O’Malley said. “He's gonna go down as possibly one of the best fighters pound-for-pound of all time. He's 24 years old, and he just beat a very dangerous Pantoja.”
The former bantamweight champion feels that Pantoja let emotion take over him at UFC 331, but pointed out how the Brazilian gassed out against Van's insane fight pace. The American called the fight exciting.
“Who's who did look a little emotional, a little chaotic, a little crazy, and he gasses out, but he doesn't gas out cause he keeps the same kind of gas out pressure. He does that every a lot of his fights. God damn it. That was such an exciting fight,” O’Malley added.

In the post-event presser for UFC 331, White also heaped praise on the young champion, highlighted the excitement Van brings to the flyweight division, and praised the pace of his five-round battle with Pantoja.
"He is the greatest thing ever for that division, you know. He brings a lot of flash, excitement, and fun to the division. That was a great fight. I was sitting, and I was like, 'Holy s*it, this is the fifth round already.' It's fun when that happens in five-round fights," White said.
