UFC Bantamweight Predicts a Grim Future for Ian Garry’s Championship Chances

Ian Garry has been in the news following his bout against Islam Makhachev. Displaying some exceptional fight skills, the Irish fighter has garnered the praises of critics. Surprisingly, UFC bantamweight star Henry Cejudo has a somber prediction for the Irishman. 

Henry Cejudo Doubts Ian Garry’s Ability to Sell a Fight

Cejudo recently opined that the 28-year-old star might not get a championship fight anytime soon. Analyzing Garry’s overall performance, the former UFC champion felt that the Irish fighter lacks the skills to sell a fight properly. While he did make some bold remarks, according to Cejudo, it was not enough. 

Cejudo said, “He didn't really sell the fight and it was just too kumbaya and whatnot. It was ridiculous. ... lan Garry just missed all the boxes."

Despite landing some significant strikes, Garry largely came into limelight for his over-doing of the respectful gestures. Analyzing the performance, UFC CEO Dana White too, sounded unimpressed. 

Dana White Missed the ‘Killer Instinct’ From Ian Garry

Appearing in the post-fight presser, UFC boss Dana White acknowledged Garry’s performance. He praised how well he executed his takedown defense and addressed the Irish as a ‘talented guy.’ However, when it came to showing enough aggression, White felt it was missing. 

“I mean, if you look at his takedown defense tonight against Islam, it was impressive. I felt like Ian is a talented guy. If he had even an ounce of killer instinct in that fifth round, you know, he had been beating him to the body. His whole. I think Islam's whole right side was beat up. His face was beat up,” White summed up. 

With things looking a bit questionable, fans are now looking forward to seeing how Garry’s UFC career will take shape in the coming days.
