Valter Walker calls out Herb Dean for ruining Alex Pereira's "aura" in hilarious promo after UFC Abu Dhabi win

Valter Walker secured yet another crafty submission victory inside the octagon, taking his submission win streak and overall MMA win streak to five. 

"The Clean Monster" followed it up with an octagon interview that many fans deemed to be absolutely hilarious.

Valter Walker appears to jestingly blame Referee Herb Dean for robbing Alex Pereira of his "aura"

The 28-year-old Valter Walker -- who's the half-brother of longtime UFC light heavyweight contender and expected heavyweight debutant Johnny Walker -- has competed in the UFC's heavyweight division since 2024. 

He's currently 5-1 under the UFC promotional banner. The Brazil-born Russia-based fighter's most recent octagon outing came at the UFC Abu Dhabi event that transpired earlier today.

He headlined the fight card's prelims against Thomas Petersen, deftly responding to being taken down by the American and trapping the latter in a leglock. The end came at 92 seconds of the very first round, as Walker made Petersen tap out with a calf-slicer submission. 

During his post-fight octagon interview with former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, Walker indicated that he's opening a new gym in Moscow. 

The Gor Azizyan-coached combatant also seemed to cut a comedic promo against veteran MMA referee Herb Dean in regard to former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. 

For context, Brazil's Pereira made his heavyweight divisional debut at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 and was beaten by France's Ciryl Gane via second-round TKO. But the fight was rife with controversy because Gane landed what looked to be a few back-of-the-head strikes on "Poatan." 

Pereira, in the following days, went on an extensive tirade against Dean, even insinuating that the latter mustn't be permitted to officiate fights.

Meanwhile, Dean posted a video of the nuances of the back-of-the-head illegal strikes rule in the sport of MMA, displaying that only strikes to a certain space on the aforementioned body part were illegal. 

Well, Walker alluded to the opinion of certain sections of the combat sports community, who've highlighted that the loss to Gane and the war of words with Dean have rid Pereira of his popularity and aura. 

Walker jokingly suggested that he'd like to fight Herb Dean next to avenge his compatriot, Pereira. He stated: 

"I want Herb Dean next. Because I want to punch him on back of his head. Because he take all aura from our 'Poatan.' Chama!"

A closer look at Valter Walker's UFC run thus far

Valter Walker's maiden UFC appearance witnessed him suffer a unanimous decision loss against Lukasz Brzeski back in April of 2024. He returned against Junior Tafa later that year, stopping Tafa by way of a heel hook submission in round one. 

The Brazilian MMA star fought thrice last year, scoring first-round submission wins over Don'Tale Mayes, Kennedy Nzechukwu, and Louie Sutherland -- all via variations of the heel hook. Furthermore, as noted, Walker then stopped Thomas Petersen with a calf-slicer submission at UFC Abu Dhabi.

While he has expressed interest in eventually fighting the high-ranking Josh Hokit in their long-awaited grudge match, the consensus is that he'd still have to beat a top-ten fighter or two before he enters the division's upper echelons.
