Brendan Allen successfully defended his ACBJJ All-Stars title by submitting a Team Khabib member with a heel hook at ACBJJ 22 in Istanbul.
UFC middleweight contender Brendan Allen continues to impress MMA fans with his impressive grappling skills outside the UFC octagon. In his recent submission grappling match, he faced Magomedrasul Gasanov at ACBJJ 22. The event took place on August 30 at the ORA Arena in Istanbul.
Allen’s ACBJJ All-Stars title was on the line, which he earned by defeating Ramazan Kuramagomedov back in July at ACBJJ 21. He entered the match with a clear goal to defend the title he earned one event earlier.
Brendan Allen submits Magomedrasul Gasanov at ACBJJ 22
Gasanov is considered a high-level grappler, as he hails from Dagestan and has been a core part of UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team.
The two fighters engaged in a competitive grappling battle before Allen found an opening and attacked Gasanov’s leg.
Allen eventually secured a heel hook and applied enough pressure to force Gasanov to tap, and he successfully defended his ACBJJ All-Stars title.

The submission victory highlights the skills Allen has that have made him one of the most dangerous grapplers in the UFC middleweight division.
As for his MMA career, Allen was in action in June. He squared off against Edmen Shahbazyan. He delivered a spectacular, dominating performance to secure a unanimous decision victory.
Allen's wins over Shahbazyan marked his third straight win in a row, and a potential one more victory over a top-ranked opponent could put him right into the title mix.
As for Gasanov, it was his first match in ACBJJ. The loss was a difficult introduction, but competing against an experienced UFC contender such as Allen provides valuable experience as he continues his development.
That said, Gasanov recently signed with the UFC and is yet to make his debut in the promotion. He holds a professional record of 23 victories and just two losses. The two defeats came via submission back in 2015.
