Can Norma Dumont Snap her Losing Skid?

Brazil's Norma Dumont has slipped to 0-2 with her loss to Ailin Perez in last night's co-main event. Having enjoyed an impressive 9-1 run before this losing skid, Dumont is clearly talented. With that being said, she's unable to put enough wins together to be regarded as truly elite.

At 35, she's got a style that could deteriorate very quickly as she relies on her reflexes to counter-strike. If she is to break back into the title picture, she needs to get back in the win column again fast.

Who's next for Norma Dumont?

Karol Rosa 2

Karol Rosa and Norma Dumont faced off for the first time in April 2023, with Dumont walking away with a unanimous decision victory. Since then, Rosa has gone 3-3, losing her last fight to Luana Santos. 

An all-Brazilian ranked clash could get the winner back in the top five and one or two fights away from a title fight.

Michelle Montague

Michelle Montague is just 2-0 in the UFC; however, she is seemingly getting 'the push'. She's already got a win over a former title challenger, Mayra Bueno Silva and will be looking to kick on towards the end of 2026 or early in 2027.

She's undefeated at 8-0, well-rounded, and marketable. If the UFC wants to give Montague a big push, matching her with Dumont is the person to match her with.

Jacqueline Cavalcanti

Jacqueline Cavalcanti suffered her first UFC loss last time out after enjoying a five-fight winning run. She lost to Ketlen Vieira via decision but at 29, she still has a future ahead of her in the sport. 

Ranked at #7, she can still make a push at the top five and a title shot in the future and fighting Dumont will certainly help her in that push.
