Michael Bisping Discusses Paddy Pimblett's Next Fight

Former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping has been discussing the next fight of fellow Brit, Paddy Pimblett. The Liverpool native has already had two fights this year, losing a war with Justin Gaethje, before submitting Benoit Saint Denis in the first exchange of their UFC 329 clash.

Bisping suggested that Pimblett will drop fight news soon and looked into the potential options.

Ilia Topuria

Talking about the potential of Paddy Pimblett vs Ilia Topuria, Bisping stated that "The fight makes all the sense in the world, absolutely. The former champion, they've already got beef. They don't like one another".

He did caveat the Pimblett vs Topuria fight by rightfully stating that El Matador is not going to come back and fight this quickly. He took a vicious beating at UFC Freedom 250 and we don't know fully what injuries he has from that fight, both physically and mentally.

Bisping said "Ilia Topuria in my humble opinion is out of the equation, simple as that".

The Winner of Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy

Bisping discussed the possibility of Pimblett facing the winner of Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy, who are set to fight over five rounds at UFC 331. He again said that the fight "makes a lot of sense".

As these two are set to face off in three weeks time and Pimblett seemingly already has a fight booked, it won't be either of these men for the Brit next.

Quillan Salkilld

Talking about Australia's Quillan Salkilld, Bisping stated "He's been on a tear. He's finishing everyone. His last four wins have been in the very first round, I mean look at this what he's doing". He did, however, go on to say "but he's not going to get the Paddy Pimblett fight" and "he doesn't have that star power just yet, he will work his way up to a title fight I'm sure".

Charles Oliveira or Max Holloway

Michael Bisping believes that either Charles Oliveira or Max Holloway are "the two likely candidates" and "it absolutely has to be one of those".

On Max Holloway, Bisping said “it makes all the sense in the world. One of the greatest featherweights of all time. Of course has viral knockouts over Justin Gaethje”. With that being said, Bisping went on to say, “Charles Oliveira, that is my number one pick”.

The former champion said “If he wants to win, because he can match up with Charles very well with the jiu-jitsu, we know that, maybe that equals each other out and it plays out on the feet”. He also said “Paddy Pimblett’s got a chin, he’s got a gas tank, he’s got the toughness, he’s not just a haircut, a funny accent and a nice guy, he’s an absolute killer inside the octagon”.

He finished his prediction with “Charles Oliveira vs Paddy Pimblett that’s going to go down. That will be for the BMF and my guess is Madison Square Garden”.
