Brendan Allen scored a big final round victory over Christian Leory Duncan last night in Las Vegas. We take a look at what's next for the middleweight.

Brendan Allen scored a big win in the final round with yet another rear-naked choke victory over Christian Leroy Duncan. The American added to his 14 career rear-naked choke victories and continued to make his claim for a huge fight next time out.

We take a look at who he could be matched with the next time we see him.

Matchmaking Brendan Allen

Dricus du Plessis

It's the fight Allen called for and the fight that should be made. The former middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis, is still on the comeback trail after being dominated by Khamzat Chimaev in an effort which saw him lose his title.

Although he bounced back last time out and scored an impressive one-sided victory over Kamaru Usman, it's not clear as to whether du Plessis will be straight back into a title shot next.

In what would be a fun mix of styles, book #4 and #2.

Khamzat Chimaev

Although the next time we see the former middleweight champion, Khamzat Chimaev, it will likely be in a title fight, the UFC could force him to get another win before he competes for a belt again.

If that's the case, Allen is the perfect fight. He's highly ranked, on a winning run and in and around the title picture himself. It would have to be either an arena fight night main event or a five-round numbered event co-main event due to the star power of Chimaev, but Allen's earned a big fight.

Nassourdine Imavov 2 - Vacant Title Fight

There's a very small chance that Brendan Allen could fight Nassourdine Imavov for the vacant belt at middleweight. The Sean Strickland saga rolls on and there's a chance that he vacates the belt and walks away from MMA.

If that's the case, Nassourdine Imavov and Brendan Allen could see themselves fighting for the vacant belt. Imavov is the next challenger without a doubt and if the fight gets offered on short notice, expect Allen to jump at the chance.
