UFC Vegas 122's Must-See Main Card Saturday

UFC Vegas 122 takes place at Meta Apex Saturday night. We examine this weekend's main card:
UFC Vegas 122 fight week continues. After having trekked to Utah last Saturday night, the UFC has a home date to look forward to this weekend. Live coverage of UFC Vegas 122 begins with the prelims at 5 pm ET/ 2 pm PT on Paramount Plus.
Main card action caps the evening at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT on the streaming platform. If there aren't any adjustments needing to be made to the bout order of the event, the final version of UFC Vegas 122 features a slate of 12 MMA fights.
Meta Apex serves as the setting for this weekend's card. After two weeks on the road, the next Apex card will take place on Halloween, Oct. 31.
UFC Vegas 122 Main Event: No. 4 Contender Brendan Allen vs. No. 10 Contender Christian Leroy Duncan: Allen Looking to Take Next Step to Title Bout
At the top of the bill on Saturday night, the middleweights take ot the Octagon for a fight matching No. 4 contender Brendan Allen (27-7 MMA, 15-4 UFC) against No. 10 contender Christian Leroy Duncan (15-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC.) This main event is a five-round fight at five minutes per round to close out the activities.
Allen comes into UFC Vegas 122 on the strength of a 3-2 record in his last five MMA fights. When he last set foot in a cage for an MMA bout, he scored a unanimous decision victory on June 6 over Edmen Shahbazyan (17-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC.)
Since that late spring Saturday night, Allen's kept busy by competing in ACBJJ bouts in July and August, winning each by way of submission. Now that he's back to MMA this weekend, the No. 4 contender at 185 lbs is within shouting distance of a chance at a championship.
If he emerges victorious from Saturday's main event and turns in a convincing performance, he may fight for the strap in his next contest.
Christian Leroy Duncan on Hot Streak Ahead of UFC Vegas 122
Across the way, Christian Leroy Duncan is 5-0 in his last five trips to the Octagon. UFC Vegas 122 serves as Duncan's third walk to the cage in 2026.
On July 18, he bested Jared Cannonier (18-10 MMA, 11-10 UFC) by way of unanimous decision during UFC Oklahoma City from Paycor Center. The stakes are high for Duncan and his camp going into UFC Vegas 122's main attraction on Saturday night.
Going into this card, he's ranked No. 10 at 185. His opponent is currently in the top-5 at middleweight, so Duncan can seize momentum from Allen if he's the one getting his hand raised on Saturday night. Get your popcorn ready.
UFC Vegas 122 Co-Main Event: Matheus Camilo vs. Jai Herbert: Camilo Looking for Another Quick Night at Office
Immediately beforehand, the lightweights go to battle for a bout matching Matheus Camilo (11-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) against Jai Herbert (14-6-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC.) This is a three-round fight at five minutes each.
Camilo will be making the walk this Saturday with a record of 4-1 in his last five fights. At the moment, he's won two fights in succession.
On June 27, he stopped Nazim Sadykhov (11-3-1 MMA, 4-2-1 UFC) in just one minute and 31 seconds during UFC Baku. This was the latter's second consecutive loss by way of knockout.
Anytime a fighter can get in and out of the cage with a victory in under a full round, it's always a bonus for him and his camp. Does Camilo have the same luck this time around?
Jai Herbert Eager to Build off of Victory
Meanwhile, Jai Herbert has a 2-2-1 record in his last five contests. Back in April, he punched his way to a first-round knockout of Mandel Nallo (14-4, 1 NC MMA, 0-1 UFC) in the latter's UFC promotional debut.
To find the last time that Herbert had a sustained winning streak, you'd need to travel back to October of 2019, when he got his hand raised in victory for the seventh time in a row. One question remains:
Will Herbert use the April win vs. Nallo as a springboard to a new winning streak? Tune in and find out.
UFC Vegas 122: No. 8 Contender Loopy Godinez vs. Ketlen Souza: Godinez Looking to Return to Victory Lane
Also on the UFC Vegas 122 main card Saturday night, the strawweights take to the cage when No. 8 contender Loopy Godinez (14-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) fights Ketlen Souza (17-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC.) The former has a record of 2-3 in her last five fights.
Last time out, she lost by way of submission (rear-naked choke) to Tatiana Suarez (12-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) in UFC 327 on April 11. This halted her two-bout winning streak.
While Godinez had her winning streak end in her latest fight, her opponent is in the reverse scenario.
Souza Attempts to Run Winning Streak to Three
In the other corner, Ketlen Souza has a record of 3-2 in her last five outings. Presently, she's won two fights in succession. On June 6, she finished off Ariane Carnelossi (15-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC) with a head kick.
With Loopy Godinez reeling from a submission loss in her last fight, UFC Vegas 122 could be the perfect opportunity for Souza to begin a hot streak. Whether this happens remains to be seen, however.
Rest of the Card
Two other bouts round out UFC Vegas 122's main card, a featherweight fight between Andre Fili (25-14, 1 NC MMA, 13-13, 1 NC UFC) and Kai Kamaka III (18-8-1 MMA, 2-3-1 UFC,) and a bantamweight contest matching Malcolm Wellmaker (10-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) against Otari Tanzilovi (10-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC.)
