Alex Pereira has a not so great idea. The Brazilian wants the UFC 334 bout order changed, with the co-main event promoted to the main event

Alex Pereira wanted a rematch against Ciryl Gane, believing that his loss at UFC Freedom 250 was due to Gane landing multiple punches to the back of his head. However, Hokit is now set to face the undisputed heavyweight champion Gane at UFC 334.

Meanwhile, Pereira will take on Sergei Pavlovich in the co-main event of UFC 335. A few hours ago, Pereira, on his Instagram Stories, shared the official UFC 334 poster and suggested that the women's bantamweight title fight between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes, currently scheduled as the co-main event, should be promoted to the main event.

Alex Pereira Upset over UFC Booking Heavyweight Title Fight as 334 Main Event

Pereira believes the heavyweight title clash between Josh Hokit and Ciryl Gane should not headline the card and has therefore decided to promote Harrison vs. Nunes to take its place. He wrote:

"Why the Women's Fight is Not the Main Event? Okay let me help promote this cause not one is payin attention to it..."

If Pereira loses to Pavlovich, many believe it could be the end of his heavyweight run. He would likely need to win another two or three fights to earn a title shot, which could be a difficult task at 39. Many former champions have urged him to return to light heavyweight, but Pereira loves proving his doubters wrong.

Why Does Alex Pereira Have Beef with Josh Hokit and Ciryl Gane?

Alex Pereira's beef with Ciryl Gane is easy to understand. Gane knocked him out in the second round at UFC Freedom 250, and "Poatan" believes that illegal blows to the back of his head during the finishing sequence contributed to his loss.

Hokit, meanwhile, has always treated Pereira as an enemy, mostly for clout, and has even made things personal by bringing the Brazilian's family into the feud while mocking the 39-year-old.

Alex Pereira Wants a Third UFC Belt

Alex Pereira wants to become the first UFC champion to win titles in three different weight classes. He had the chance to achieve that feat at UFC Freedom 250 but fell short against Ciryl Gane.

Now, Poatan is back to the drawing board, and a win over Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 could put him back in the title picture. Pereira still has seven fights left on his UFC contract, including the bout against Pavlovich, and is hell-bent on finishing his career competing in the heavyweight division.
