Alexander Volkanovski and Petr Yan reportedly set to defend titles at UFC 333

The UFC featherweight and bantamweight champions are reportedly set to put their belts on the line in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 24.
Two title fights could headline UFC 333. According to a report from Red Fury MMA, Alexander Volkanovski is set to defend his featherweight belt against Movsar Evloev in the main event, while Petr Yan will clash with Merab Dvalishvili in the co-main event with the bantamweight title on the line. The event is scheduled for Oct. 24 in Abu Dhabi, although the UFC has yet to officially announce either matchup.
Alexander Volkanovski Faces Undefeated Contender at UFC 333
Volkanovski arrives at the potential matchup looking to make his second consecutive title defense after regaining the belt against Diego Lopes. On the other hand, Evloev would get his first shot at the gold after defeating Lerone Murphy in a title-eliminator bout. Undefeated in his career, the Russian is the division's No. 1 contender and would present a major challenge to Volkanovski.
Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili Set For Third Fight at UFC 333
The co-main event of UFC 333 would feature a third fight between Yan and Dvalishvili. The bantamweight fighters first met in 2023, when the Georgian was able to win a unanimous decision. Last December, they met again, with the Russian defeating Dvalishvili to win the bantamweight title. Now, both fighters could step into the Octagon once again for an immediate rematch, with the Georgian looking to regain his belt.
If confirmed, UFC 333 would feature two championship bouts involving four of the division's top fighters. Volkanovski and Yan would both face major challenges in Evloev and Dvalishvili. The latter matchup would also add another chapter to one of the UFC's most competitive rivalries in recent years. For now, however, both title fights have yet to be announced by the promotion.
