Arman Tsarukyan Reveals Plan for a Quick Return Following UFC 331 Feat

Arman Tsarukyan has no intention of stopping now that he is back in the lightweight title scenario. After making quick work of his opponent at UFC 331, Tsarukyan revealed his preferred timeline for his return to the octagon based on how the encounter played out.

Arman Tsarukyan Is Eyeing Another Fight Before the End of 2026

The start to Tsarukyan's UFC 331 encounter against Mauricio Ruffy was far from an ideal one, as the latter controlled the distance much better. Ruffy also defended Tsarukyan's takedown attempts effectively in the first half of the initial round, despite wrestling being one of the Armenian's major strengths.

But just as the UFC CEO, Dana White, was starting to feel that Tsarukyan would find it extremely tough to defeat Ruffy, 'Batman' landed a brutal elbow that knocked out his Brazilian rival with just five seconds left in the first round. Tsarukyan got the job done without sustaining any major injury, except for a swollen patch around his left eye.

As a result, the Armenian lightweight targeted a quick comeback to the octagon, mentioning it would take just a couple of weeks for him to heal from the minor bruises he sustained. During his appearance at the post-UFC 331 show, Tsarukyan desired to have his next encounter in December.

Answering a question about the same, he said, "As soon as possible. I don't have injuries. So, I'm healthy. Yeah, I have bruises, but it's nothing, you know. So, if they told me December, that would be great. I need one or two weeks to rest, and then I'm ready. I didn't get hurt, so I'm ready."

But while Tsarukyan has already set the timeline for his next encounter, it remains to be seen if Dana White and Co. will oblige his demand. Surprisingly, the situation is similar regarding Tsarukyan's next opponent.

'Batman' jumped the cage following his victory over Ruffy and went on to shake White's hand and demand a title shot. The UFC CEO also praised Tsarukyan's comeback to title contention during the post-event press conference, but he refrained from confirming whether he would be the next to receive the UFC lightweight title shot.

So, while Tsarukyan is clearly eyeing a lightweight title fight against the reigning champion, Justin Gaethje, in December, we will have to wait for an official confirmation from the UFC to see if his wish comes to life.
