Casey O'Neill Looking to Continue Comeback at UFC 331

Casey O'Neill returns for the second time this year and will look to continue her good run of form at UFC 331. The Scottish-born Australian, who now lives in the United States, began her UFC career in blistering fashion; however, following back-to-back losses, a change was needed.

She made the changes and then suffered an injury that kept her out for almost two years. Her last performance was emphatic, but now she looks to go three straight and cement herself as a dangerous name in a turbulent flyweight division.

UFC 331 Casey O'Neill vs Eduarda Moura

'King' Casey O'Neill will make the walk at UFC 331 to face off against Brazilian Eduarda Moura. The 32-year-old has a record of 12-2, having lost to Denise Gomes and last time out against flyweight title challenger, Cong Wang. In three of her five UFC fights, she's missed weight. She failed to make 115lbs on back-to-back occasions before moving up to flyweight. She also missed the flyweight limit on her last attempt in her loss to Wang.

O'Neill, ever the professional, has never missed weight. She returned from a two-year layoff last time out to knock out Gabriella Fernandes with a flurry of punches against the fence.

Prediction

Casey O'Neill has faced much better opposition than Moura in her career. She's younger, quicker and hungrier than her Brazilian opponent, and this should be enough to get her the victory in this one. 

Expect O'Neill to take the first few minutes to figure out what Moura is going to do. The Brazilian is going to be on the front foot and pressure O'Neill. She often leads with the rear-straight, and if the 28-year-old can get the read on her initial attacks, she will either be able to intercept her with a quick jab or slip to the inside and rip the hook.

Moura, once hurt, will likely look to ground O'Neill at some point during the fight. With just a 34% takedown accuracy and a 70% takedown defence on O'Neill's side, it could prove to be an uphill battle for Moura. If she does manage to get her opponent down, the Scottish native isn't easy to hold down.
