Darren Till and Yoel Romero have been making waves in the combat sports realm for several weeks. Their highly anticipated BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) showdown has piqued fan interest, with a number of observers deeming it a potential barnburner that could go either way. 

Nevertheless, its latest betting odds put forth by bookmakers have seemingly caught many by surprise. Fans soon chimed in with their reactions to the same.

Darren Till, a UFC welterweight championship challenger, last competed in MMA under the UFC promotional banner back in 2022. The Englishman has since tried his hand at gloved professional boxing, in addition to making his long-awaited bare-knuckle boxing debut this May. "The Gorilla" rallied after a tough round one to KO compatriot Aaron Chalmers at BKFC 90.

The 33-year-old Till is considered to be a major threat to any fighter across MMA, boxing, and bare-knuckle boxing. 

On the other hand, an Olympic silver medalist in freestyle wrestling (85 kg category) and a UFC middleweight title challenger -- Yoel Romero -- last fought in MMA back in May. "Soldier of God" has also competed in a pair of bare-knuckle boxing matches in his athletic career thus far, going 1-1 in the sport. His debut in the sport came at BKFC 80 last year when he bested Theo Doukaus by way of second-round TKO inside the Squared Circle. 

Romero, at 49 years of age, is beheld as an enigma in the fight game, who's time and again proven that athletes can compete well into their 40s. The Cuban combatant has earned widespread laudation for the same. 

Currently, Till and Romero are booked to clash in -- what the former noted would be -- a 190-pound catchweight matchup. They'll headline BKFC 94 Manchester at the AO Arena in Manchester, England, on Saturday, September 26.

Fight fans surprised by odds for Darren Till vs. Yoel Romero at BKFC 94 Manchester

A post made by the official BKFC Instagram handle indicates that, per Rainbet, Darren Till is a -345 favorite and Yoel Romero is a +225 underdog for their high-profile bare-knuckle boxing match at BKFC 94.

It appears to have left a number of fans rather surprised, as many have argued that Till suffered a knockdown against Aaron Chalmers just a few months ago and Romero is one of the powerful punchers in combat sports history. 

Be that as it may, many fans, including Darren Till's ardent British supporters, rallied to motivate him against the dangerous Romero. Taking to the comments section of the Instagram post, a netizen wrote, "That's your moment champ. Romero is the redline for your future. Good luck." 

Another fan predicted, "Both very tough fighters going to be a war but I think till puts him down in the 2nd." One Instagram user opined, "I think Till wins this easily and handily." 

On the contrary, some observers warned that Romero was being underestimated. A fan highlighted both sides of the coin, saying, "Yoel if he's aggressive and can do something in the first, if not then Till picks him apart." Meanwhile, one commenter sees Romero getting his hand raised: "Yoel is winning." 

Furthermore, some fans picked Till to win, albeit not without facing a tough battle first: "Till wins it's going to be a hard fight." Some fans even implied that the oddsmakers are right in viewing Till as the favourite -- alluding to their age difference working in the Briton's favor. A commenter noted, "F**k I was hoping the books were gonna sleep on Till."
