Islam Makhachev wants to stick to his plan and win against Ian Garry in the first round of the upcoming UFC 330 title fight.

Islam Makhachev is looking quite confident ahead of his big title fight. Having already established himself as a two-division champion, Makhachev is now looking forward to continuing his dominance in the UFC welterweight division. Ahead of his big fight night against Ian Machado Garry, the former lightweight king sounded extremely confident.

Islam Makhachev Wants to End Things in First Round

There is a lot of chatter going on around the UFC 330 main event. Having transitioned into a new weight class, the challenge was expected to be pretty hard for the 34-year-old. However, in his debut fight in the division against Jack Della Maddalena, Makhachev picked up a unanimous-decision victory. Becoming the new UFC Welterweight Champion, the two-division champ has now issued a stern statement for his Irish opponent.

Makhachev said, ā€œI can make this fight easy. I just have to follow my plan, and I can beat him in the first round."

Surely, since Dagestani became a UFC champion, he has looked pretty much on top of his game. Back in 2023, when Alexander Volkanovski came up to challenge him in lightweight, the fight looked tough for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s prodigy. However, Makhachev showed exceptional fight maturity and thwarted ā€˜Volk’ to retain his championship.

Interestingly, Garry too is not backing down in the war of words.

Ian Machado Garry wants Islam Makhachev Unconscious

Knocking out Islam Makhachev is a tough task. But Garry is looking to do exactly that. Riding high on confidence following his win against Belal Muhammad, the 28-year-old pointed out how he cannot wait to get his hands on Makhachev. Speaking about his title shot, the Irish fighter sounded confident about his striking skills.

ā€œ doesn't have a chance against me on the feet. I need to see him unconscious,ā€ Garry said.

Surely, the UFC 330 main event is shaping up interestingly. Now, with both fighters looking committed, the fans would be expecting a banger.
