Jon Jones believes Stipe Miocic fight was his last, reveals regret about UFC White House event

Jon Jones has made a rather telling statement regarding his MMA future, whilst opening up about the UFC White House event.
Jon Jones has suggested that fight fans may have seen the last of him as a professional MMA fighter inside the UFC's famed Octagon.
The former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion also asserted that he regrets that his expected fight at UFC Freedom 250 (i.e., the UFC White House event) didn't materialize.
Jon Jones reveals Stipe Miocic matchup was likely his last MMA fight
Jon Jones last competed at UFC 309 at the iconic Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City in November of 2024. He secured a third-round TKO victory over fellow mixed martial arts legend, former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
Jones thereby defended his UFC heavyweight belt, but he vacated it last year and announced his retirement from the sport of MMA. Regardless, he's been linked to a potential comeback multiple times in the ensuing months, most prominently for the high-profile UFC White House event held at the White House in Washington, D.C., on June 14. That, however, didn't come to fruition.
During his recent conversation with The Schmo, Jones was asked whether he'd be satisfied if the Miocic fight was his last moment ever as an active MMA fighter in the cage. The New York-born Albuquerque-based combatant responded by stating:
"I really do believe that that was my last (moment) inside the cage, Schmo. And it was great, man. And I got to fight -- my brother (Arthur Jones) was still alive at the time. My father was there. You know, I got to tell the world that I love Jesus, and that I'll never change."
Moreover, he mentioned getting to salute US President Donald Trump at the event. "Bones" appeared to clarify that he isn't into politics as much, but to have his nation's president at his MMA fight -- irrespective of whether one is a Democrat or a Republican -- is massive.
The 39-year-old opined that it doesn't get much better than that. Also, he indicated that Miocic is regarded by many as the greatest heavyweight ever, so beating him -- even though they both clashed when they were older, in the latter phase of their careers -- was quite a significant achievement and moment.
Jon Jones regrets not fighting at the UFC White House event, is fine with never fighting again
Jon Jones further lamented not being able to compete at the UFC White House event that was held this June. Jones said:
"There was the White House card. It was one of the few nights in my career where I just was thinking I should've been there. I usually don't regret decisions, but that was one of my big regrets in life -- not being a part of the White House. But if I never fight again, I think I'm pretty damn happy."
Jones has, as of late, been making waves with his MMA coaching pursuits, particularly mentoring Gable Steveson, a freestyle wrestling Olympic gold medalist and UFC heavyweight prospect. "Bones" had, earlier this year, signaled that he's not shut the door on a return to MMA.
