Lucas Fernando vs. Billy Elekana set for UFC Vegas 124
The rising light heavyweights will meet as they look to continue climbing the UFC ranks.
Lucas Fernando will face Billy Elekana at UFC Vegas 124 on Nov. 7 at the Meta Apex. The Brazilian light heavyweight is coming off a successful UFC debut, while Elekana enters the matchup riding a three-fight winning streak inside the Octagon. The matchup was first reported by MMA Fighting.
Lucas Fernando Looks to Build on UFC Debut
Fernando made his UFC debut at UFC 330 in August, when he stopped Rafael Tobias with a third-round TKO. The victory extended his winning streak to five fights and improved his professional record to 14-3. The Brazilian defeated his last three opponents by TKO, establishing himself as an interesting prospect in the UFC light heavyweight division.
Before joining the UFC, Fernando became a two-division champion at LFA. In 2023, he knocked out Jansey Silva to win the middleweight title. Two years later, after moving up a division, the Brazilian defeated Phillip Latu by TKO in just 63 seconds to become the light heavyweight champion. Fernando defended the title once against Leon Soares before leaving the promotion and signing with the UFC.
Now with a new promotion, the 29-year-old rising prospect will look to maintain his momentum against a more experienced UFC opponent.
Billy Elekana Riding Three-Fight Winning Streak
Elekana, meanwhile, made his UFC debut with a setback. The American lost to Bogdan Guskov by second round submission at UFC 311 in January 2025, but has bounced back since, winning his next three fights.
In July 2025, Elekana won a unanimous decision against Ibo Aslan. Just a few months later, in November, the American stepped inside the Octagon and submitted Kevin Christian in the first round. Elekana didn't take much time off and returned at UFC 325 in January, defeating Junior Tafa by submission.
The 33-year-old enters the matchup with a 10-2 professional record and will look to extend his winning streak against Fernando.
UFC Vegas 124 will be headlined by Gabriel Bonfim and Sean Brady in a five-round welterweight bout.
