Volkanovski Ends Evloev’s Unbeaten Run

Volkanovski ended the  Russian’s 20-fight winning streak and retained the featherweight title with ground-and-pound at 4:54 of round two. A tough result for Evloev, who has been trying to work his way toward a title shot for years now. Volkanovski was met in the Octagon by a man who had won all 10 of his previous UFC fights.

What is “0-1” ?

The ‘0-1’ in Evloev’s bio is not his official record. His official record now stands at 20-1. There has been no public explanation for the change, so fans can only speculate as to why he picked those numbers. The loss doesn't change Evloev's respect for his opponent. In his first post-fight speech he congratulated Volkanovski, accepting that the Australian was the better man on the night and also calling him a legend .For now, the switch in the Instagram bio says it all. It is not clear whether Evloev believes this to be a new start or has some other motivation for the edit.

Evloev, who had never lost prior to Saturday night, is now getting a taste of defeat. He had built his 20-0 record over years but Volkanovski ended that streak in the biggest fight of his career. Fans have been wondering about the “0-1” bio change, but Evloev has not commented on it yet.
