Nathaniel Wood Gets New Opponent for UFC Paris

UFC Paris goes down this weekend and 'The Last Kingsman', Nathaniel Wood has got a replacement opponent.
It's UFC Paris fight week, and we've already had a shake-up as Britain's Nathaniel Wood has got a new opponent. Originally scheduled to face Mairon Santos, Wood will now meet promotional newcomer Pavel Andrusca. The Moldovan has a shot at someone ranked in the top 10, a huge opportunity for the 24 year old.
All the pressure is on the Brit as he's expected to win and will enter the fight wanting to warrant his ranking spot.
Nathaniel Wood vs Pavel Andrusca
Wood's Journey to Paris
Nathaniel Wood will enter the octagon enjoying a four-fight winning run where he's been dominant in each and every outing.
After moving up to 145, the Londoner is 7-1, only dropping a decision to Muhammad Naimov.
The only stain on Wood's record is that he hasn't finished a fight since 2019 and is yet to notch a win inside the distance at featherweight. If he can get a finish here, it'll certainly help his rankings push.
Debuting Moldovan
Pavel Andrusca is certainly going to be a tough test for Nathaniel Wood. He's 8-0 with seven finishes. He's recently fought at UAE Warriors 72, scoring a first-round knockout.
Andrusca hasn't seen a second round since 2024 and has finished his last five fights inside five minutes, so expect a quick start to proceedings in this one.
UFC Paris Card
UFC Paris will be headlined by Dan Hooker and the debuting Salahdine Parnasse in a fight that has fans extremely excited in what promises fireworks.
The co-main event will see an all-French affair as Fares Ziam meets Axel Sola. We know the French fans always turn out in force and expect the exact same for Saturday night's card in the Accor Arena.
