A few hours ago, Paulo Costa once more said that he is frustrated and done waiting for the UFC to book his next fight.

The light heavyweight contender revealed that he has not heard anything from the matchmakers and plans to fight elsewhere before the year ends.  He has one fight left in the UFC and has not been in the Octagon since beating Azamat Murzakanov in April.

Paulo Costa plans to fight before the year ends

The 35-year-old  recently shared a post on X with a cryptic message:

“Nothing from the UFC. I’m going to fight at an event at the end of the year. I’m in great shape and in my prime. I’m going to do what I love—fight somewhere.”

Paulo Costa has not revealed where or when he will fight next. 'The Eraser' is currently ranked No. 4 in the 205-pound division, but the UFC has yet to confirm his next fight.  Since he is still under contract with the UFC, he cannot fight for another MMA promotion. However, he can compete in wrestling or grappling matches under banners such as Hype FC or RAF.

Over the past few months, Costa has repeatedly called for a fight and criticised UFC officials, including Hunter Campbell, on podcasts, shows, and social media. He wants to stay busy but has claimed that the promotion does not want him to. 'The Eraser' has also complained about low fighter pay. However, Dana White has said that Costa has been offered many fights, which the 35-year-old turned down.

Paulo Costa Demands Title Shot

Paulo Costa has one fight left on his UFC contract, as mentioned before, and wants it to be a title fight. A few minutes earlier, he posted a clip of himself knocking out the previously undefeated Azamat Murzakanov and captioned it:

"I PROMISED. I DELIVERED. GIVE ME MY BELT. "

UFC Light heavyweight Champion Carlos Ulberg is still recovering from an ACL injury. Therefore, a fight between Costa and former champion Magomed Ankalaev makes perfect sense for the interim title.

However, after Costa has repeatedly criticised UFC officials, the question is whether the promotion will still give him what he wants before he rides off into the sunset.
