UFC 331 Betting Tips and Picks

UFC 331 goes down on Saturday night at the Crytpo.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Headlining the card is an exciting flyweight rematch between the champion, Joshua Van and the former champion turned challenger, Alexandre Pantoja.

The co-main event sees the always dangerous Mauricio Ruffy clash with Arman Tsarukyan, who is almost definitely only one win away from a title shot. 

Elsewhere on the card, there are plenty of exciting fights which will have the LA fans constantly out of their seats.

We take a look at some of the best betting tips and picks ahead of an exciting night at UFC 331.

Joshua Van via decision

The champion, Joshua Van, is full of confidence heading into this one after a dominant Tatsuro Taira last time out. Having won the belt from Pantoja in a controversial and unconvincing fashion, he has a point to prove at UFC 331.

After their recent press conference and there appears to be some needle between the two men and if Van can keep this under control, he’ll put himself in a much better position to retain his belt.

Although history would suggest that Pantoja was a dominant champion, there’s a reason we’re picking against him in this one. He was riding an eight-fight winning run, which was only ended by an injury. With that being said, Pantoja is much younger, has picked up another win since the Pantoja fight and looked good in that one. He showed improved takedown defence, slick striking and finishing instinct.

He likely won’t have enough to finish the Brazilian in this one, so backing him over 25 minutes is a good bet.

Araman Tsarukyan via Submission

Arman Tsarukyan has one simple way to victory. He needs to go in there, take the fight to the ground and quickly as possible, work his ground game and lock in the submission.

Tsarukyan has the much superior wrestling, ground game and overall better grappling. He’s recorded six submissions, including in his last performance against Dan Hooker.

The only time in which we’ve seen Mauricio Ruffy struggle was when Benoit Saint Denis took him down, dominated him and submitted him with relative ease. 

The longer this fight stays on the feet, the more dangerous it gets for Tsarukyan but as soon as it hits the floor, it’s Tsarukyan’s to lose.

He’ll want to make a statement and put on a performance that can’t be ignored. Tsarukyan via submission.

Robelis Despaigne via Knockout/TKO

Robelis Despaigne returns to the UFC after just a single MMA fight away from the organisation. He burst onto the scene with an 18-second knockout on his UFC debut, but after suffering two straight decision losses, he was cut.

Since losing his place on the UFC roster, he went 7-0 in Karate Combat, six of which came via knockout. He then returned to MMA on the MVP card in June, beating Junior dos Santos via knockout in the first round.

Tai Tuivasa has no business still being in the UFC. He hasn’t won a fight since 2022 and is enduring a miserable seven-fight losing run. He simply isn’t good enough.

Despaigne via knockout is the biggest lock on the card, and rightfully so.
