UFC Color Commentator Heavily Favors Arman Tsarukyan to Face Justin Gaethje for Title

Justin Gaethje might not be available for a fight this year, but speculations about who his next opponent would be has already begun. While there were initial calls for Ilia Topuria to get an immediate rematch, Arman Tsarykyan’s latest antics have pegged back Topuria’s chances significantly. Speaking on the topic, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan pointed out how he wants Dana White to confirm Tsarukyan’s title shot immediately. 

Joe Rogan Impressed with Tsarukyan 

Everybody hoped that Tsarukyan would try to play it safe and go for a ground and pound approach. However, it turned out that the 29-year-old was brave enough to beat Mauricio Ruffy in his own game. 

Reflecting on the emphatic knockout, Rogan stated, “Get that man a title fight. There's nothing else to say. That is, right there, the No. 1 contender in the world. No ifs, ands or buts about it. That guy just made a statement.”

Rogan further added, “He knocked Ruffy into the shadow realm with two elbows. Just spectacular. I can't remember the last time someone standing elbow KO'd someone."

Arman Tsarukyan Gets Pat on the Back from Dana White

Counting in the win against Ruffy, the Armenian fighter has now won 6 games back-to-back. Coming up as a strong contender for the UFC lightweight gold, the 29-year-old is likely to be the next in line for a title shot. Following his win at UFC 331, ‘Ahalkalakets’ made a strong head start as Dana White seemed to be pretty impressed with his performance. 

The UFC CEO said, “I've been vocal about being crazy about some of the stuff that he has done. When you fu*k up, and then you come back, and you do everything the right way, I mean, you couldn't have had a better comeback after the things that he'd done that I wasn't thrilled about."

Thus, with everything pointing towards a probable face-off between Tsarukyan and Gaethje, it remains to be seen what’s next.
