UFC Shanghai Post-Event Facts: Chinese Star Scores Incredible Knockout

UFC Shanghai saw a dearth of phenomenal stoppages from fighters across the card, from the preliminary bouts all the way to the main event. In what will go down as one of the biggest upsets of the year, Chinese slugger Song Yadong floored surging Russian talent and heavy favorite Umar Nurmagomedov with a stunning second round knockout. Before that, Denise Gomes announced herself as a potential title challenger by starching long-time contender Yan Xiaonan.

UFC Shanghai: Bilal Hasan def. Nilson Rojas

Bilal Hasan

Hasan's debut at UFC Shanghai happened a mere 18 days after earning his company contract on the Contender Series earlier this month. His professional record now stands at 10-0. He has now won nine bouts in a row by finish after winning his first professional fight by split decision.

His win over Rojas netted him his first Performance of the Night bonus

Nilson Rojas

Rojas' appearance at UFC Shanghai also served as his first Octagon outing, as well as his first bout in a major promotion. His loss to Hasan was the first setback of his professional tenure, making it the first time he has lost since his final amateur scrap back in 2018

UFC Shanghai: Liu Ce def. Levi Rodrigues Jr.

Liu Ce

Ce's win over Rodrigues Jr. is both his second straight victory, and the second fastest win of his professional career at 4:26, the first being 1:11. He still boasts a 100 percent finishing rate, ending all of his post-amateur fights by knockout. The bout also earned him his first Fight of the Night bonus.

Levi Rodrigues Jr.

Rodrigues' loss to Ce is his second loss in a row, bringing his UFC record to 0-2 since making his debut this past July. He has lost both of his promotional contests by stoppage. He hasn't won a fight since September 2025, going 0-2 with one no-contest in his last three tilts.

The Ce scrap earned him his fist Fight of the Night bonus

UFC Shanghai: Su Mudaerji def. Alex Perez

Su Mudaerji

Su's bout with Perez at UFC Shanghai was the pair’s second encounter this year, with them originally facing each other at UFC Fight Night 277 this past May. That bout ended in a no-contest due to Mudaerji kicking Perez in the groin, rendering him unable to continue fighting

His unbeaten streak now rises to four since suffering his last loss to Charles Johnson back in 2024. Six of his 20 professional wins have come via decision

Alex Perez

Perez's loss to Mudaerji is his fourth defeat in his last seven fights. He has now gone 1-1 with one no-contest in 2026. His UFC record now stands at 8-7 with one no-contest.

UFC Shanghai: Kai Asakura def. Aori Qileng

Kai Asakura

His stoppage win over Qileng was his second in succession after knocking out Cameron Smotherman back in May. He is now 2-0 since moving up to bantamweight in 2026 after a disastrous 0-2 run at flyweight.

Aori Qileng

Aori Qileng's loss to Asakura serves as his second consecutive defeat after previously losing to Cody Haddon earlier this year, losing both those bouts by knockout. He has now won a fight since beating Cody Gibson back in October 2025 at UFC on ESPN+ 120.

He has not seen a third round in any of his contests since losing to Raul Rosas Jr. at UFC 306 in 2024

UFC Shanghai: Denise Gomes def. Yan Xiaonan

Denise Gomes

Gomes' first round finish over Yan extended her current winning streak to five in a row, making it her fastest victory in that stretch. She has now won eight times by knockout as a professional. Her appearance at UFC Shanghai is also her first contest that didn’t take place in Las Vegas after previously competing three times at the Meta Apex

Yan Xiaonan

Yan's loss to Gomes is her second setback in a row after losing to Virna Jandiroba in April of 2025 at UFC 314. The defeat was also the first time she had been beaten by knockout in over five years after falling to future two-time strawweight champion Carla Esparza at UFC Vegas 27 back in 2021

She is now 2-3 in her last five scraps

UFC Shanghai: Song Yadong def. Umar Nurmagomedov

Song Yadong

His win over Nurmagomedov was his second consecutive victory after previously submitting Deiveson Figueiredo last May. 10 of his 24 victories as a professional have now come by way of knockout. He is now 5-1 in UFC main events, as well as 2-1 in 2026, with his only loss coming against Sean O’Malley at UFC 324

He has now won seven Performance of the Night bonuses.

Umar Nurmagomedov

His loss to Song marked his first setback since losing to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311. It also marked the first finish defeat of his professional career after 22 bouts

This was the first time one of his fights did not make it to the scorecards since his victory over Raoni Barcelos at UFC Vegas 67 back in 2023
