UFC Vegas 120 Staff Picks: Lightweights Take Center Stage
UFC Vegas 120 happens tonight. Who did our staff choose to win this time?
UFC Vegas 120 originates from Meta Apex in Enterprise, NV tonight. Headlining the card is a lightweight tilt matching Mateusz Gamrot and Quillan Sallkild before a lightweight fight between Diego Ferreiea and Billy Quarantillo.
UFC Vegas 120 Main Event
For most of his run in the promotion, Polish grappling sensation Gamrot has consistently proven to be a nightmare matchup for most men he has faced inside the Octagon, holding key victories over Jalin Turner, Rafael Fiziev, and Arman Tsarukyan. Despite the significant age difference between him and his main event adversary, “Gamer” remains a difficult problem to solve for much of the staked lightweight class.
Fighting out of Perth, Western Australia, Salkilld has embarked on a thrilling warpath to watch through the competitive 155-lb landscape, winning five matches in a row in the company since fighting in his first UFC contest in 2025. At UFC Vegas 120, the 26-year old is aiming to record a mammoth upset over the established Gamrot.
UFC Vegas 120 Co-Main Event
Taking his first bout back in 2011, Ferreira’s journey in the UFC has been one of marvelous highs and lows, with the Brazilian attaining six post-fight awards over the course of his decade in the organization. Celebrating his 41st birthday this past January, he is out to prove that he is still able to hang with the top lightweights on the planet in what will be his 27th professional fight this weekend.
Following an extensive five-year stint at featherweight, Quarantillo will add an extra ten pounds to his frame as he enters the 155-lb game for the first time since 2017. Looking to end his unfortunate two-fight losing streak, the Gracie Tampa South tangos with another decorated, long-time athlete.
More Bouts On the UFC Vegas 120 Main Card
Rounding out the main card, Darren Elkins makes his last walk to the cage when he faces Yadier del Valle. Then, former strawweight title challenger Amanda Lemos battles Alexia Thainara. Finally, welterweight finishers Billy Ray Goff locks horns with Ty Miller.
