Alex Pereira showcases his fight-ready mentality as the former UFC champion prepares for his next heavyweight challenge.

Despite suffering a setback in his heavyweight campaign, former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira is adamant that his fighting spirit and mindset remain as fierce as ever.

In a new video released by ESPN MMA, Pereira showcases his signature intensity, offering everyone another glimpse into the mindset that has established him as one of UFC's most formidable finishers. The Brazilian is laser-focused on the competition as he gears up for yet another major test in the heavyweight division.

Pereira Has No Plans to Slow Down

A recent Instagram video showcases Alex Pereira behind the wheel, driving with his MMA gloves on, offering a hilarious yet serious glimpse at his "always-ready mentality. Even outside the gym, "Poatan" appears to be keeping his fighting mindset switched on.

Pereira made the jump to heavyweight in 2026 after dominating both the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. He first challenged for heavyweight glory against Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250 in June, suffering a second-round TKO loss while trying to become the first UFC fighter to hold titles in three divisions.

Instead of dropping back down to light heavyweight, Pereira has committed to continuing at heavyweight. The 39-year-old has been vocal about his intentions,, stating, "Heavyweight for sure. November, heavyweight."

Currently, his record stands at 13-4, with 11 of his victories coming by knockout or TKO.

Poatan Faces Another Dangerous Heavyweight

Pereira is gearing up for his next big challenge against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 on Dec. 12. This exciting five-round co-main event will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, giving Pereira a prime opportunity to solidify his status among the heavyweight elite.

Pavlovich steps into the Octagon with renewed momentum after three consecutive victories, including a knockout win over Tallison Teixeira in May.

For Pereira, this fight is a chance to bounce back from the first knockout loss of his UFC career since joining the promotion. His latest video suggests that the former champ is laser-focused and fully locked in as he prepares to take on another formidable opponent.

As he continues his journey in the heavyweight division, Pereira aims to remind everyone why "Poatan" remains one of the most dangerous knockout artists in the sport.
