Ali Abdelaziz Has Lucrative Offer for Usman Nurmagomedov on One Condition
Ali Abdelaziz has stated that he is ready to cover for the purse of Usman Nurmagomedov if he debuts against Ilia Topuria.
The UFC lightweight division is getting interesting with each passing day. Just a few months ago, when Ilia Topuria was the champion, things looked quite sorted, but it all started the moment Justin Gaethje delivered a statement victory to claim the title. Now, with multiple contenders for the title, Ali Abdelaziz has dropped a surprising proposal for Umar Nurmagomedov.
According to a statement from Abdelaziz, he is ready to cover Nurmagomedov’s purse. But there is one condition. The Dagestani star must debut in the UFC against none other than the former UFC two-division, Ilia Topuria. In a recent interaction with Submission Radio, Abdelaziz said, “If the UFC wanna do that, I'll pay the difference from my pocket. If it's a million or something from my pocket, I will cover Usman's purse.”
For a long time now, the speculations about Usman joining the UFC have been doing the rounds. Remaining undefeated in PFL, the star fighter has not officially re-signed with the promotion. This has led to some significant rumors about Usman following the footsteps of his brother, Umar Nurmagomedov. Recently, addressing the topic, the undefeated fighter has dropped a major update.
Usman Nurmagomedov Reveals Timeline for UFC Decision
Ever since the rumors surfaced, the likes of Joe Rogan, Islam Makhachev, and even Dana White have spoken on the matter. White has expressed his interest in signing the Dagestani superstar publicly. Makhachev and Rogan have also urged Usman to come and experience the UFC.
Providing a timeline for his decision, the Dagestani stated, “I don't need a warm-up fight... I've got the experience. A five-round fight against any UFC fighter? No problem. Name a single fighter I should feel nervous about. Let them give me anyone they want. Arman, Justin, Oliveira, Holloway... who else. The entire top 10. 1 can beat the whole division."
At this moment, there is no certainty about whether Usman will join the UFC or if he will really get to fight Topuria.
