Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway at UFC 329
Conor McGregor returns to the Octagon on July 11, 2026, at UFC 329 in Las Vegas against Max Holloway. The two fighters previously fought each other on August 17, 2013, with McGregor winning by unanimous decision. This was only McGregor’s second fight in the UFC at the time.
Will Conor McGregor Return to Form at UFC 329?
The rematch comes nearly five years after McGregor’s last UFC fight and raises questions about his form, weight class, and future in one of the year’s most important MMA events. McGregor has been absent from the Octagon for years due to various personal issues. These include alleged assault on Italian DJ and TV personality Francesco Facchinetti in October 2021, an arrest in March 2022 and charge with six driving offenses, and more recently accused of assaulting a 42-year-old woman aboard his yacht in January 2023. The incident allegedly occurred in July 2022.
This will be McGregor’s first fight since being found liable by an Irish jury for sexual assault from an incident in 2018. He announced plans last March to run as a far-right candidate for the Irish presidency, then withdrew in September, stating the election process was 'undemocratic'. McGregor was also handed an 18-month suspension from the UFC anti-doping program Combat Sports Anti-Doping last October due to three ‘whereabout failures’ after missing drug tests on June 13, September 19 and September 20, 2024.

The event will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card is set to start at 9 p.m. ET on Paramount+, while the prelims begin at 7 p.m. ET and early prelims at 5 p.m. ET.

The main card features Paddy Pimblett taking on Benoit Saint Denis at lightweight (155 lbs.), while Cory Sandhagen is set to take on Mario Bautista at bantamweight (135 lbs.).
