Dana White Confirms Ciryl Gane Will Not Be Crowned Undisputed UFC Champion
After Tom Aspinall, Ciryl Gane will not directly become the new UFC champion, Dana White confirms.
Within the last year, Tom Aspinall stepped away from the UFC heavyweight division, giving up his title in the process. It was expected that he would be stripped of his title, as Aspinall took a long time off from the sport. Fans of the sport expected Ciryl Gane to be named the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion; however, he was also named an interim champion. Recently, Dana White said Gane would face Aspinall for the division title.

Talking to Diana Belbita, White explained that Gane still has to fight for the undisputed belt. White added that the UFC will wait to see what happens with Tom Aspinall. Meanwhile, Ciryl Gane will have to fight another contender, and the winner of that fight will become the new champion.
“Does it make him the undisputed champion? No, he's still got to fight. I mean, we'll see how this whole thing plays out with Aspinall. You know, Ciryl will fight and we'll see who becomes the champion. And I mean, this isn't like this is the first time this has ever happened. This is nothing new. This happens,” White said.
Just like White said, this is nothing new. Recently, when Valentina Shevchenko gave up her title, and now Natalia Silva and Wang Cong will fight for it. Now, the big question is who Gane will fight next. There are a lot of good fighters in the division who have been doing really well lately.
Alex Pereira Wants to Fight Ciryl Gane in November
Pereira wants to fight Ciryl Gane again after losing to him at UFC Freedom 250. As per 'Poatan,' the rematch makes sense. He wants to beat Gane this time and win his third UFC title. Additionally, Pereira also said when and where he wants the fight. He is ready to fight in November, and he wants the fight to happen at Madison Square Garden.
“I think that's the fight that makes sense. I really want it to work out, I want to win that third belt. I think I've done a lot of things in the UFC, and I think I deserve to have those options. I'd come back at Madison Square Garden, me and Ciryl Gane. If it were up to me, that's what I'd choose,” Pereira said.
Pereira is a big name, but getting a rematch with Gane may not be easy after his last loss. There are also other fighters like Josh Hokit waiting for their chance. So, Pereira may have to wait before getting another shot at Gane.
