David Feldman talks Conor McGregor's UFC future, likely bare-knuckle boxing debut after epic BKFC 92 at Fenway Park

Conor McGregor set the combat sports community abuzz by announcing -- alongside the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) -- that he'd become a BKFC co-owner. That was back in 2024. 

Coming to the present day, the BKFC is fresh off one of the most iconic events in all of combat sports this year, namely BKFC 92, which transpired at the legendary Fenway Park in Boston on Saturday, August 29. 

BKFC president David Feldman expressed his elation about the incredible event at the beloved baseball park and addressed the calls for the bare-knuckle boxing organization to bring fight game megastar Conor McGregor over to the BKFC's famed Squared Circle.

Conor McGregor's latest pro combat sports contest witnessed him return to MMA after a five-year hiatus. 

"The Notorious" faced fellow mixed martial arts legend Max Holloway in a rematch, which went down at welterweight and headlined UFC 329 on July 11. McGregor suffered a knee injury after landing awkwardly following the first strike he threw, leading to an unfortunate injury-induced first-round TKO loss for him. 

Well, during the BKFC 92 post-fight press conference, Feldman was asked about McGregor's long-awaited debut in the sport of bare-knuckle boxing, that too under the BKFC promotional banner, a possibility many fans and experts often discuss. 

Feldman responded by acknowledging an important variable at play, which is that McGregor, admittedly, has just one fight left on his current UFC contract.

The BKFC head honcho made a definitive prediction for the Dubliner's UFC and BKFC future, suggesting that he foresees McGregor honoring the remaining fight on his UFC deal, then joining the BKFC, and selling out a BKFC show at the famous Fenway Park. Feldman stated: 

"I mean, we've had those conversations in the past. Right now, he's rehabbing his knee. He's just getting back. He's very, very focused to come back for his last (UFC) fight. And then he's going to come here (Fenway Park) and sell this whole f**king stadium out."

Conor McGregor eyes triumphant comeback in the face of UFC 329 setback; champions Kai Stewart and Christine Ferea shine at Fenway Park

Conor McGregor was afflicted with a broken left leg, something that befell him mid-fight, in a lightweight grudge match against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July of 2021. He'd gone 1-1 with the American -- the first fight being at featherweight and the second at lightweight -- in the past. Their trilogy clash ended with the freak injury. 

Furthermore, McGregor had also beaten Max Holloway in their first encounter, at featherweight, back in 2013. Their rematch ended with another leg injury, as noted, for "Mystic Mac." All things considered, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has vowed to recover and return for his UFC deal's final fight, ideally next July. 

Meanwhile, speaking of the BKFC, reigning BKFC men's featherweight kingpin Kai Stewart defended his throne by besting Harry Gigliotti via unanimous decision in the headlining match of BKFC 92.

In the BKFC 92 co-headlining match, the legendary Christine Ferea defended her BKFC Queen of Violence belt by beating KOTS (King of the Streets) underground combat sports phenom, the "Queen of the Streets" (aka "Geisha Argentina"), Sofia Landi. "Misfit" bested Landi by way of a second-round KO in a masterful performance.
