Fight fans have chimed in with a myriad of reactions to combat sports icon Conor McGregor praising the UFC Freedom 250 event and the U.S.

Conor McGregor was linked to the UFC Freedom 250 fight card, as he'd previously hinted that his long-awaited comeback could finally materialize on it.

The special UFC Freedom 250 event will go down in a few hours at the White House in Washington, D.C. It marks a notable part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence from British colonial rule.

McGregor's name was conspicuously absent from the UFC Freedom 250 fight card. Instead, the UFC confirmed that the Irishman would return to headline UFC 329 during the organization's traditional International Fight Week.

Well, UFC Freedom 250 will be headlined by a lightweight title unifier clash between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. All things aside, McGregor has still expressed his excitement for UFC Freedom 250, and fight fans soon responded to the same.

In an appearance on Fox & Friends last year, Conor McGregor alluded to his long-running feud against perennial UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler. McGregor, who hasn't fought since 2021, was booked to fight the American in a welterweight matchup at UFC 303 in June 2024.

However, their fight fell apart because McGregor suffered a toe injury. Eventually, the expected rebooking didn't come to fruition. Chandler went on to rematch Charles Oliveira and then fight Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett, losing to both.

Currently, Chandler is scheduled to take on Mauricio Ruffy at UFC Freedom 250. Ruffy, ironically, is often compared to McGregor due to their creative striking techniques.

McGregor has now taken to X and directed his laudation toward the UFC MMA organization and the nation where it's headquartered and where UFC Freedom 250 will transpire -- the United States of America.

Capping off his X post with an emoji of the U.S. flag and a folded hands emoji, McGregor wrote, "Good luck to the @ufc team tonight for their "Freedom 250" event at the White House! What a company! God bless America"

Fans weighed in with their responses to McGregor's post. One X user lamented his absence from UFC Freedom 250, indicating that he and ex-UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Jon Jones should've been on the card.

Another fan referenced the fight week festivities in Washington, D.C., noting, "Wish you were here...this weekend in DC has been insane."

A netizen addressed McGregor's next fight, a rematch against Max Holloway, writing, "Easy win against Max Holloway next month." Other fans acknowledged his appreciation for the U.S., whereas some inquired whether he'll be in attendance for the UFC White House card.

Conor McGregor is set to return against Max Holloway at UFC 329

Conor McGregor sustained a gruesome mid-fight leg break, in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, the last time he stepped into the octagon. The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion thereby lost via TKO.

McGregor is now booked to face ex-UFC featherweight titlist and ex-BMF champion Max Holloway. "The Notorious" one beat Holloway via unanimous decision in their first encounter, at featherweight, in 2013.

Their rematch will be a welterweight matchup. McGregor vs. Holloway 2 will headline UFC 329 in Las Vegas on July 11.
