Paddy Pimblett blasts Arman Tsarukyan, claims to have no respect for him
Paddy Pimblett has, once again, taken aim at fellow UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan, for whom he has real hatred.
There is no love lost between Paddy Pimblett and Arman Tsarukyan. 'The Baddy' continues to take shots at him in the media, having taken part in a recent interview in which he claimed that the animosity between them is real. Not only is it real, but Pimblett has also stated that Tsarukyan is the only fighter he dislikes more than anyone.
Paddy Pimblett's hatred for Arman Tsarukyan is bottomless
Two days ago, Paddy Pimblett had an interview with Kolos MMA. He touched on his rivalry with ex-UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria, which has only grown over the years. Despite the differences between them, Pimblett, at least, did not shy away from admitting that he respects Topuria, who has accomplished a great deal in the sport. When it comes to Arman Tsarukyan, though, his feelings are entirely antagonistic (5:10):
"It's personal with Arman as well. I actually respect Ilia, I think he's a good fighter and he's worked hard for where he is, but I don't respect Arman. He's had everything handed to him on a silver platter, you know what I mean? He eats $2000 caviar for breakfast. He's a rich kid. I'm gonna have kids, I'm gonna be a rich parent, I'm not gonna spoil them. I'm not gonna let them do whatever they want. They're gonna still get brought up like I got brought up, and Arman's just a little b*tch, and at some point I'll fight him, and at some point I'll render him unconscious with a choke or a strike."
To further highlight how deeply he hates Tsarukyan, Pimblett, who is a scouser and lifelong Liverpool F.C. supporter, revealed that he hates Tsarukyan even more than he hates Liverpool's rival club, Manchester United (5:50):
"Yeah, I think he's a piece of sh*t, lad."
Both Pimblett and Tsarukyan are coming off wins and determined to get a lightweight title shot. Unfortunately for 'The Baddy,' his first-round submission over Benoît Saint Denis at UFC 329 was his first win since losing to now undisputed lightweight champion Justin Gaethje via unanimous decision in an interim title fight at UFC 324.
Meanwhile, Tsarukyan is on an impressive six-fight win streak, and coming off a UFC 331 first-round knockout of MaurĂcio Ruffy. He is now expected to challenge Gaethje for the lightweight belt. Pimblett, however, needs one more win to secure his own crack at championship gold.
