UFC announces four fights to October event in Edmonton

The UFC has officially added four bouts to the UFC Edmonton card. On Monday, the promotion confirmed Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Kyle Daukaus, Tanner Boser vs. Jhonata Diniz, Melissa Croden vs. Chelsea Chandler and Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Katlyn Cerminara for the Oct. 17 event in Edmonton. With the UFC returning to Canada nearly six months after its last event in the country, all four newly announced bouts feature a Canadian fighter.

Melissa Croden vs. Chelsea Chandler Headlines New Additions to UFC Edmonton

Among all the fighters added to the card, Croden is the only one ranked among the top 15. The Canadian contender currently sits in the No. 15 position in the bantamweight division after defeating Darya Zheleznyakova in her last appearance in April. Meanwhile, Chandler bounced back against Priscila Cachoeira in June after losing two consecutive fights. Both fighters will enter the matchup looking to capitalize on their recent victories.

Three More Fights Added to UFC Edmonton

The other three matchups will also feature Canadian fighters. Marc-Andre Barriault will face Kyle Daukaus in a middleweight bout, while Tanner Boser will take on Jhonata Diniz in a heavyweight matchup. Meanwhile, Jamey-Lyn Horth will face former title challenger Katlyn Cerminara, who is set to return to the Octagon after more than two years away. Cerminara, formerly known as Katlyn Chookagian, was previously ranked among the division's top contenders and challenged for the UFC flyweight title in 2020.

The UFC Edmonton main event will feature Joaquin Buckley against Canadian Mike Malott in a welterweight clash. With four additional Canadian fighters now added to the card, the promotion's return to Canada is shaping up as an event featuring several local fighters.
