UFC Fans Unhappy with Charles Oliveira Calling out Justin Gaethje
UFC fans does not think Charles Oliveira deserves a title shot as they call him out for allegedly ‘ducking’ Arman Tsarukyan.
Charles Oliveira is once again searching for his shot at UFC lightweight gold. Back in UFC 317, Oliveira faced off against the former champion, Ilia Topuria. As most of the critics touted the fight as a like-for-like battle, Topuria made quick work of Oliveira. Getting knocked out in the first round, the Brazilian fighter was pegged back in his quest for UFC gold. Now, with two consecutive fights under his belt, he is ready to go again. However, as ‘Do Broxs’ has called out Justin Gaethje, fans aren’t impressed.
Fans Call out Charles Oliveira for Allegedly Ducking Arman Tsarukyan
“Not intrested in seeing Charles fright for the belt. He’s now a gate-keeper as far as I’m concerned,” wrote a fan.
“He ducked the arman rematch. He doesn't deserve to fight for the title. He sees an opportunity to be champ again in his head,” stated another.
“It's looking increasingly likely he never wanted to fight Arman,” pointed out the third.
“Yeah but it seems odd he thinks he deserves a title shot,” quipped a X user.
“He is avoiding Arman because he fears losing his title shot. If Ilia were still the champion, he wouldn't be asking for a rematch because he knows he’d get smoked. but with Justin, he thinks it’ll be easier to win the belt,” analyzed a fan.
“No one is gonna give you a title shot buddy, ilia has ended your the possibility of you being a champ again, ever,” chimed in a user.
Interestingly, despite the negative comments, Oliveira looks focused for a title fight against Gaethje.
Charles Oliveira Calls Out Justin Gaethje
Oliveira recently put forth his opinions about how he would like to go about his career. The Brazilian made it clear that he wanted to look forward and push for his chance to win a belt. ‘Do Broxs’ also took a shot at the UFC, claiming that he was ‘robbed’ in his first fight.
Oliveira said, “The UFC likes a story... I was robbed lin our first fight]. They wanted to distract me so I would go in there, have a sh*tty fight, and they could crown him champion. He felt my hands, I dropped him and then I submitted him.”
He added, “There's a story there. And now he's the champion. I have no problem with that. The rematch doesn't need to be in Brazil. Just like I went to his home turf before, it can be in his backyard, it can be in Las Vegas, on the street corner, in Japan, anywhere in the world.”
Oliveira has picked up a couple of impressive wins against Mateusz Gamrot and Max Holloway. Thus, it remains to be seen if UFC deems him fit for a title opportunity.
