UFC Oklahoma City Post-Event Facts: Featherweight Sets New Striking Record

The UFC’s first trip to Oklahoma City in a decade proved to be a fantastic event, with former champions Dricus du Plessis and Kamaru Usman putting on an exemplary main event bout. Finding his shots early on, including several knees and a high kick that wobbled the previous welterweight apex on a few occasions, du Plessis secured the unanimous decision.

In the co-main event, Christian Leroy Duncan battered the aging Jared Cannonier in what would become the biggest victory of his career, taking home the win on all three judge’s cards.

UFC Oklahoma City: Tommy McMillen def. Alberto Montes

Tommy McMillen

McMillen's win over Montes is his 11th victory in a row as a professional. It was also the fifth time he had ended a bout via strikes

The triumph saw him earn a second straight post-fight bonus after scoring a Fight of the Night award in his debut back in April. He also managed to set a new promotional record of most significant strikes landed in a three-round UFC tilt with 252, beating the original holder of the record, Nate Diaz, who previously held that distinction with 238 significant blows

Alberto Montes

Montes' loss to McMillen was the first setback of his UFC tenure after making his debut in the Octagon back in March, bringing to an end his previous four-bout win streak.

It was also his second-ever loss as a professional, with both of those defeats ending via knockout. Coincidentally, those two defeats have come at the hands of undefeated fighters.

UFC Oklahoma City: Fatima Kline def. Tabatha Ricci

Fatima Kline

Kline's win over Ricci is her fourth straight victory since losing to Jasmine Jasudavicius in 2024. It's also her fifth professional triumph by decision. She landed the most takedowns in her UFC career against Ricci with seven.

Her UFC record now stands at 4-1

Ricci's loss to Kline served as her second straight defeat after also losing to Virna Jandiroba back in April. She has now lost four scraps by points

She is now 2-3 in her last five fights

UFC Oklahoma City: Chase Hooper def. Mitch Ramirez

Chase Hooper

Hooper's win over Ramirez brought to an end a previous two-bout losing skid. It's also his ninth professional victory by submission.

The triumph was marred by some controversy, however, as Hooper did miss weight by a pound and a half, making it the first time he had failed on the scales in his career. He is now 6-2 since returning to the lightweight division back in 2023

Ramirez's loss to Hooper is his third straight, with all of those matches ending because of stoppage. It was also his first ever setback by tapout.

Across his three appearances in the UFC, he has not won a single time

Duncan has now won five bouts in a row, with three of those ending via decision and two by finish. He was the only English competitor on the entire card.

Four of his 15 victories as a professional have now occurred due to the judge’s scorecards

Cannonier's loss to Duncan is his second consecutive loss, making it twice since 2024 that he had encountered losing streaks that totaled two in a row. He has not won a tilt since defeating Gregory Rodrigues in the main event of UFC Vegas 102 in 2025.

His UFC record now stands at 11-10

UFC Oklahoma City: Dricus du Plessis def. Kamaru Usman

Dricus du Plessis

du Plessis' appearance at UFC Oklahoma City was his fifth straight organizational main event. This fight in the Sooner State was his only match in that stretch where a championship wasn’t on the line. He has now bested four former UFC champions.

His win over Usman earned him his first Fight of the Night bonus since beating Sean Strickland for the first time at UFC 297

Kamaru Usman

Usman's loss to du Plessissaw him receive 136 significant strikes, making it the most he had ever been hit in a UFC fight since his first meeting with Colby Covington in 2019 at UFC 245, where he was struck by 143. He is now 0-2 since making his middleweight debut at UFC 294 back in 2023.

This match with du Plessis was his first headlining fight under the UFC banner since facing Leon Edwards at UFC 286 three years ago.
