Three Fighters Exceed Maximums at First During UFC Vegas 115 Weigh-Ins

All told, there were three contestants who initially missed their targeted weight for their respective contests at today’s weigh-in window. On his first try, Abdul-Rahkman Yakhyaev (206 lbs) came in one pound over for his light heavyweight tilt on Saturday vs. Brendson Ribeiro (205 1/2 lbs,) who was under the nontitle maximum for the fight, before Yakhyaev hit 206 exactly on his second effort.

Two other fighters will be exiting the weekend with lighter wallets after missing weight today. Rafael Estevam (136 1/2 lbs) exceeded the 136-lb bantamweight maximum for nontitle affairs by half of a pound.

As such, he will now cede 20 percent of his pay to his opponent, Ethyn Ewing (135 1/2 lbs,) who clocked in within the limit for bantamweights. The same holds true for Darrius Flowers (156 1/2 lbs,) who loses 20 percent of his pay after narrowly exceeding the lightweight nontitle maximum for his fight with Lando Vannata (156 lbs,) who weighed-in exactly at 156 lbs.
