Marc Goddard has opened up about a recent viral prank on Alex Pereira, which he believes has truly crossed the line.

UFC double champion Alex Pereira has been the victim of a massive hate campaign on the internet recently after he came up short in his heavyweight debut earlier this year. However, a Kick streamer's latest antics have rubbed the entire MMA fanbase the wrong way, with UFC referee Marc Goddard joining the pushback.

Internet Influencer Throws Down the Gauntlet at Alex Pereira

The incident came at a Misfits event when Polish internet streamer Maciej Płaczek approached Alex Pereira and his team for what seemed like a fight callout. However, beyond the forthright challenge, Maciej also used incendiary language to address 'Poatan.'

"Yo Alex. Me and you, let’s have a UFC fight, bro. I’m ready. Don’t be a b*tch boy…Come on, sign the contract."

The former light heavyweight champion and Plinio Cruz both remained calm, while the streamer and his cameraman were removed from the scene by Pereira's security guards.

“Are you okay? You’re gonna get hurt for no reason. Go play somewhere else.”

While Maciej seemingly backpedalled in front of Poatan's team, playing it off as a joke, the influencer later concluded that the UFC star was somehow scared to fight the Polish.

Undoubtedly, the entire MMA community found it ridiculous, tearing the streamer apart online. UFC veteran Marc Goddard also joined the online melee.

Marc Goddard Lashes Out at Disrespectful Comments

Soon after that incident broke out on the internet, Marc Goddard took to his X account to address the incident. And the former MMA fighter refused to soften the blow by calling the incident what it was: disrespect played off as a joke.

"What an absolute sh*t stain of a “boy.” Here’s the thing, these kids will keep this up till there’s a real FAFO moment to let them know in the real world this doesn’t fly. Zero tolerance for disrespect disguised as a d*ckheads prank."

The criticism wasn't just strongly worded; it also highlighted an important issue: the difference between social media clout and real-world consequences. Although there's no doubt theatrics and drama rule the internet, knowing when it simply drives engagement and when it crosses a boundary is crucial.

For Alex Pereira's part, however, the two-division UFC champion doesn't seem too bothered with the stunt. The Brazilian's sights are firmly set on his upcoming heavyweight showdown against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335. After a rather humiliating loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250, Poatan will definitely look to cement his place on the heavyweight roster with the December clash.
