Diego Ferreira names Bobby Green and Jim Miller as potential next opponents
The Brazilian lightweight wants to return to the Octagon before the end of the year and is already thinking about extending his career.
Diego Ferreira has plans for the future. On Saturday, the Brazilian veteran went back to the win column after defeating Billy Quarantillo by unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 120. Following the good performance, Ferreira named King Green and Jim Miller as potential opponents and revealed he would like to return to the Octagon before the end of the year.

After bouncing back against Quarantillo and snapping a two-fight losing streak, Ferreira wants to fight again this year and already has two opponents in mind: Green and Miller. In fact, the Brazilian was supposed to face Green at UFC 319, but the bout was canceled after the American suffered an injury during fight week. The UFC confirmed that the fight was postponed due to Green's injury.
Speaking to MMA Junkie following his victory at UFC Vegas 120, Ferreira revealed he would welcome a fight against either of the two American veterans.
"I want to fight Bobby Green," Ferreira began. "I was supposed to fight him and then he got hurt and I could not have the match. I'd love to share with Bobby Green or Jim Miller – one of those fighters if they're going to be available at the end of this year. I really want to get back as soon as I can."
Like Ferreira, Green and Miller are also longtime UFC veterans, setting up the possibility of another matchup between experienced lightweights. Ferreira also said he came out of the fight healthy, despite some bruising, and is already eager to return to training.
Glover Teixeira Inspires Diego Ferreira
At 41 years old, Ferreira is also beginning to consider how much longer he wants to remain in the sport. The Brazilian pointed to Glover Teixeira as an example of a veteran who remained competitive into his mid-40s, including winning the UFC light heavyweight title, and admitted he could envision himself following a similar path.
"I want to take it one-by-one first," Ferreira said. "I saw Glover Teixeira fighting to 45 or 46, so why not? I can maybe go further than that. But my family is first, so I'm going to sit down with my family thinking about it. But for sure a few more years to go thinking about that."
For now, Ferreira's immediate focus appears to be on returning to the Octagon rather than retirement. After ending his two-fight losing streak against Quarantillo, the veteran is already looking ahead to another fight and considering how much longer he can keep competing.
