Josh Hokit Scorches Alexander Volkov Over Viral "Mental Illness" Comments
Josh Hokit just clapped back at Alexander Volkov, who had previously made some comments about Hokit talking about 'mental illness.'
Things are getting spicy in the UFC heavyweight division, and undefeated prospect Josh Hokit is at the center of it. After Russian veteran Alexander Volkov fired jabs questioning why Hokit earned a title opportunity, chalking it up to the UFC catering to "mental illness," the rising contender hit back with absolute venom.
Appearing in an interview with Ariel Helwani, Hokit tore into the long-time heavyweight contender for his conservative fighting style and past inside the Octagon.
"Sh*t, these sleep doctors, they be prescribing Volkov fights to people that struggle to sleep," Hokit mocked during the interview. "You put one of those motherf***ers on, you’re snoring immediately. He’s been in the game for so long. Nobody cares about you. You already had your chance. Get out of here, gang. That motherf***er lost to Derrick Lewis."

The feud highlights a drastic contrast between two very different heavyweight eras. Hokit boasts an unblemished 10-0-0 professional record, quickly stringing together dominant victories with an explosive striking pace of 9.29 significant strikes landed per minute. Despite "Drago" putting together a storied career featuring notable victories over top contenders, Hokit remains unimpressed by the Russian's body of work.
"He’s boring as f**k though," Hokit added. "That interview, I guess, was the most exciting thing he’s done in 20 years. Kudos to you, Ariel, you brought that shit out of him. You say Volkov now, I just wanna yawn. I wanna take a nap."
