After a lightweight fight was expected to serve as the headliner, a light heavyweight fight now takes place in Saturday’s UFC main event as MMASucka provides live UFC Vegas 48 results. Just before the beginning of fight week, the scheduled main event between Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev was rescheduled for UFC 272. As a result, a light heavyweight fight between Johnny Walker and Jamahal Hill was promoted to main event.
UFC Vegas 48 Results – Main Event
After a successful showing during one of the first Contender Series Brazil cards, Johnny Walker started off his UFC career with three straight wins by KO/TKO. In his UFC debut, he finished Khalil Rountree Jr. two minutes into the first round, knocking him out with an elbow. After that, he finished his next two opponents by TKO, finishing Justin Ledet in fifteen seconds with a spinning back fist, followed by a thirty-six second flying knee finish over Misha Cirkunov. Following his quick start in the UFC, Walker ended up losing his next two outings. The first of those losses was a TKO loss to Corey Anderson at UFC 244, followed by a unanimous decision loss to Nikita Krylov at UFC Fight Night 170. Walker rebounded from those losses last fall when he finished Ryan Spann by knockout at UFC Fight Night 178. In his most recent outing, Walker came up short in his first main event as he lost to Thiago Santos by unanimous decision.
Jamahal Hill will be entering his first UFC main event with a record in the octagon of 3-1, with one no contest. Like Walker, Hill earned his UFC contract on the Contender Series as Hill made his debut in early 2020 following a summer outing on the Contender Series. In his debut at UFC Fight Night 166, Hill would defeat Darko Stosic by unanimous decision to improve his professional record to 7-0. Hill’s next outing was at UFC on ESPN 9 where he finished Klidson Abreu by TKO in round one. Unfortunately, the fight was changed to a no contest after Hill tested positive for marijuana. After serving his six month suspension, Hill returned later that year at UFC on ESPN 16 where he finished Ovince Saint Preux by TKO in the second round. Six months later, during a meeting with Paul Craig last summer at UFC 263, Hill suffered his first pro loss as Craig defeated his by first round TKO. Hill’s most recent fight took place last December at UFC Vegas 44 where he finished Jimmy Crute by knockout in under a minute.
UFC Vegas 48 Results – Co-Main Event
Saturday’s UFC Vegas 48 co-main event will feature a catchweight fight between Kyle Daukaus and Jamie Pickett. Originally, Daukaus was scheduled to face Julian Marquez in a middleweight fight, but Marquez was forced out of the fight. As a result, Pickett stepped in as a replacement and the fight was changed to a catchweight fight at 195 pounds.
In Daukaus’ last three outings, he has put together a record of 1-1 with one no contest. In November 2020, he defeated Dustin Stoltzfus by unanimous decision in their meeting at UFC 255. His next appearance was during May of last year when he faced Phil Hawes at UFC Vegas 26, losing by unanimous decision. In his most recent fight, Daukaus fought Kevin Holland at UFC Vegas 38. The fight would end in a no contest after an accidental clash of heads knocked Holland down and hurt him badly, allowing for Daukaus to lock up a submission win. It was deemed a no contest after further evaluation post-fight.
In Pickett’s four fights since making his octagon debut, he has put together a record of 2-2 as he enters the fight on a two fight win streak. He made his UFC debut in 2020 following a successful outing on the Contender series, however he would start his UFC career 0-2. In those two fights, he lost a unanimous decision to Tafon Nchukwi at UFC Fight Night 183, followed by a TKO loss to Jordan Wright in round one of their UFC 262 meeting. Since then, he has won his last two straight fights. The first of those wins was a unanimous decision win over Laureano Staropoli at UFC Vegas 41. In his most recent outing, Pickett defeated Joseph Holmes by unanimous decision earlier this year at UFC Vegas 46.
UFC Vegas 48 Results – Main Card
Kicking off the main card will be a middleweight fight between Joaquin Buckley and Abdul Razak Alhassan. During 2021, Joaquin Buckley had put together a record of 1-1. Following two straight wins to close off his 2020, Buckley suffered a loss early in 2021 to Alessio Di Chirico by first round knockout during their fight at UFC on ABC 1. Since then, in his most recent fight, Buckley went on to finish Antonio Arroyo by knockout at UFC Vegas 37. Similar to Buckley, Alhassan will be entering Saturday’s matchup having gone 1-1 during the year of 2021. Alhassan went winless in 2020 with a record of 0-2 and his 2021 did not start off great either. In April 2021, Alhassan suffered a third straight loss at UFC Vegas 24 when he lost to Jacob Malkoun by unanimous decision. Alhassan’s most recent outing took place in August of 2021 when he faced Alessio Di Chirico at UFC Vegas 35 and defeated him by first round knockout in just seventeen seconds.
Following that fight will be a lightweight fight between thirteen year UFC veteran Jim Miller and Nikolas Motta. In 2021, Jim Miller had put together a record of 1-1. His first fight in 2021 took place in April at UFC Vegas 23 where he faced off against Joe Solecki, losing the fight by unanimous decision. Following that loss, Miller picked up a win in his most recent outing at UFC Vegas 40 as he knocked out Erick Gonzalez in round two. For Motta, he will be making his UFC debut following a unanimous decision win on the Contender Series in November 2020 over Joseph Lowry.
Finally, before UFC Vegas 48’s co-main event will be a fight in the heavyweight division between Parker Porter and Alan Baudot. Since the start of 2020, Parker Porter has put together a record of 2-1 as he enters Saturday night on a two fight win streak. Following two straight wins in 2019, Porter’s 2020 started with his win streak being snapped at UFC 252 as Chris Daukaus defeated him by first round TKO. Since then, he has won his last two in a row with back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Josh Parisian at UFC on ESPN 18 followed by another win over Chase Sherman at UFC Vegas 34. As for Baudot, he enters Saturday’s fight coming what would have been back-to-back losses, had his last fight not been changed to a no contest. In his one fight during 2020, he lost to Tom Aspinall by first round TKO at UFC Fight Night 179. Following that fight, he made one appearance last year against Rodrigo Nascimento at UFC Vegas 31. Nascimento originally won the fight by TKO, but the fight was changed to a no contest following a failed USADA test by Nascimento.
